Do I really need to be vaccinated for this party?
YES. Current CDC guidelines require that everyone attending an indoor party with over 250 people must be fully vaccinated. No exceptions.
What does FULLY vaccinated mean?
It means that you have received your 2nd dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine (or one dose of J&J) AND 14 days have passed since that date.
Will all performers / DJs / artists & venue staff be vaccinated as well?
Yes. Every single one.
What if I show up and there are ‘only’ 1-2 days left before the 14 days have passed?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to admit you to the event. However, we will be happy to refund the price of your ticket (minus $3.00 service fee) and hope to see you at our next party (FreaKKshow) in late July. What about showing a negative PCR test instead? Didn’t I read something about that??
Unfortunately, for about 24 hours after the event was posted, the description did contain this outdated information and has since been corrected. However, negative PCR tests will not be accepted for this party. If you bought a ticket during this period and will not be fully vaccinated by the day of the party, we are happy to provide you with a full refund along with our sincere apologies for the confusion. Which types of vaccine confirmation will you accept?
We can only accept digital apps that are connected to official health databases OR your original CDC vaccination card (no scans or photocopies) showing all required information. If using an app, screenshots, emails or printouts will also not be permitted with the exception of Excelsior Pass (which uses a secure QR code).
Accepted apps include:
- Excelsior Pass (preferred)
- Walgreens or CVS apps
- Hospital web apps such as MYCHART (Mount Sinai and NYU)
- CommonHealth (Android only) – You will need to connect it to your specific provider
- AppleHealth (iOS only) – You will need to connect it to your specific provider
Great… Which of those will help get me into the event the fastest?
If you were vaccinated in New York State, we strongly suggest using Excelsior Pass. It only takes a few minutes to sign up, and there will be a separate line for people using it. In fact, you can obtain your pass right now and be ready for next weekend just by going to the following link: https://epass.ny.gov/home. Physical cards will be examined closely, and for that reason will likely be the slowest way into the party.
Do you think people will use fake vaccination cards?
Anything is possible. That being said, anyone caught attempting to use a fraudulent CDC vaccination card to circumvent public health guidelines will be immediately banned from all future Kostume Kult events (forever) and be placed on a list that will be shared with burner frequented venues, festivals, and parties. Multiple healthcare professionals will be present who have endlessly worked with these cards on a daily basis to assist with validation. We should also mention that presenting a forged card will likely soon be considered a felony in New York.
What if I was vaccinated in a different country, or in a hospital as an in-patient and am having trouble obtaining acceptable proof?
If the above applies to you (or if you have a different unusual circumstance), please send us an email at kult@kostumekult.com as soon as possible, and we’ll be happy to work it out with you.
Is there anything else I should know?
Since there is now an additional step for entry, arriving early (before 10:00PM) is the best way to avoid a line, even if you’re using Excelsior.
We would also like to take a moment to mention that we recognize that this will be the first ‘real’ party for many and might be a bit overwhelming at times. In addition to having volunteer Komfort Keepers present to ensure a safe space for all, we will also have a quiet and comfortable area setup within the venue for anyone needing to take a break from the festivities.
